The culinary delight out of the deep-sea is easily prepared.
The deep-sea king crabs meat in the legs and claws has an exquisite taste that is both sweet and savoury. They are a culinary delight.
It is suitable especially for roasting, baking and grilling – served with garlic butter or seasoned with herbs or spices. Many also enjoy the king crab "naturally prepared" - easily cooked or steamed with a light salad and rounded off with a slice of lemon.
Grilled king crab
A simple but also precious recipe for your dining table: The King Crab is a delicacy with a perfectly balanced taste of seafood.
4 pieces of norwegian king crab legs (recommendation: our cooked and sliced legs)
2 sprigs of thyme
1 sprig of rosemary
2 cloves of garlic
4 tbsp olive oil
1 piece lemon
Preparation:
Let the frozen king crab legs thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Wash the king crab legs and divide the joints with a kitchen scissors. Slice the king crab legs lengthways on both sides with a sharp knife and cut the meat inside lengthways in half.
Remove needles and leaves of thyme and rosemary, pat dry and chop finely. Peel the cloves of garlic and press them into the olive oil. Mix the garlic oil with the chopped herbs.
Coat the crab meat with the herb and garlic oil and cook on the grill with indirect heat for about 8 - 10 minutes. During grilling cover the meat again with the herb and garlic oil.
Wash the lemon (preferably organic) with hot water and dry it, cut into slices and serve with the grilled king crab legs.
Ceviche with king crab
King crabs are not only delicious when eaten warm but also enrich many cold dishes – like this slightly modified Ceviche – with an exquisite Caribbean touch.
2 pieces of red king crab legs (recommendation: our whole cooked legs)
2 big red onions
2 pieces avocado
1 piece chili
1 cup of raspberry (alternatives: pomegranate, mango or kiwi)
1 piece ginger
2 cloves garlic
1 can of corn
1-2 pieces lime
1 bunch italian parsly
Preparation:
Cut the red onions into thin slices. Chop the garlic, ginger and the chili, let the corn drain and mix them all together in a bowl. Remove the leaves of the italian parsley and chop them up roughly before you add them to the other ingredients.
Take the pitted Avocados, chop them up as well and pour the lime juice over them before you add them to the bowl. Add a pinch of salt to all ingredients and give it a good stir.
Now take your cooked king crab legs and cut them open lengthwise by using a scissors. Remove the meat and pay attention that the "bones" still stick to the shell. Now just grill your meat in a pan with olive oil and garlic to induce some flavour and chop them up in nice chunks to add it to your salad.
For the ultimate finishing, you can now carefully add the raspberries to your salad or replace them with any other fruit you prefer. Just cut them in pieces and add them to your salad.
Mediterranean Pasta with king crab
A classic dish comes to new life: Who doesn´t love a good Mediterranean Spaghetti and garlic, refined with the best olive oil, this dish gets completed due to the tender, sweet meat of the King Crabs.
2 pieces of red king crab legs (recommendation: our whole cooked legs)
500 gr Spaghetti
2 cloves garlic
1 tbsp olive oil
seasalt
fresh basil
herbs of Provence
Preparation:
Cook the spaghetti till they are al dente.
Take your cooked king crab legs and cut them open lengthwise by using a scissors. Remove the meat and pay attention that the "bones" still stick to the shell. Now just grill your meat with some olive oil and garlic to induce some flavour and add the spaghetti to the pan.
Add some extra crushed garlic an olive oil to the spaghetti and season it with some herbs of Provence.
Finish the dishs with some fresh leaves of basil - et bon appétit.
